Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of StencilIQ (the "Site"), operated by Format Partners LLC ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that any information you provide is accurate.

3. Description of the service

The Site is an educational and reference resource about stencil design, tattoo workflow, craft and DIY stencil creation, photo-to-stencil conversion, and stencil materials. The Site is the web companion to the StencilIQ iOS app available on the Apple App Store. The Site itself does not require an account.

4. iOS app, subscriptions, and billing

The StencilIQ iOS app is distributed through the Apple App Store and includes a free tier and paid subscription tiers. All subscriptions, billing, refunds, and cancellations for the iOS app are managed by Apple through your Apple ID. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. To manage or cancel, visit your Apple ID account settings.

5. Refunds

Refund requests for iOS subscriptions must be made through Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not process refunds for App Store purchases.

6. License grant

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7. Restrictions

You agree NOT to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Site
• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest content at volume that degrades service for others
• Republish substantial portions of Site content without permission
• Use automated systems to access the Site in ways that violate these Terms or the law

8. Intellectual property — the Site

All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Format Partners LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Excerpting short passages for educational, journalistic, or commentary purposes with attribution is permitted under fair use.

9. Intellectual property — your designs and stencils

You are responsible for the intellectual property of any image, design, or reference you provide to the StencilIQ iOS app or convert to a stencil. The copyright and trademark rights in source artwork remain with the original creator. You may only stencil, print, apply, or commercialize designs you own, designs you have explicit rights to use, or designs in the public domain. Generating a stencil from an image does not transfer or modify any underlying intellectual property rights.

10. Third-party content and links

The Site may link to third-party websites (Apple App Store, manufacturer sites, etc.). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of third-party sites. References to specific products, services, or organizations are for informational purposes and do not constitute endorsement.

11. Educational use and disclaimers

Content on the Site is provided for educational and informational purposes only. Stencil technique recommendations, material recommendations, and printer setting guidance are estimates based on general practice. Output quality depends on your specific equipment and materials. For tattoo applications, professional skin preparation and application by a trained artist is required; the Site does not provide tattoo application instructions. StencilIQ is a design tool, not a tattoo training resource or skin-safety guide.

12. Warranty disclaimer

THE SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FORMAT PARTNERS LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR RELIANCE ON ANY CONTENT, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY DECISIONS RELATING TO STENCIL PRODUCTION OR APPLICATION.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Format Partners LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the Site or violation of these Terms, including any claims arising from intellectual property infringement in designs you stencil.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms. The provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.

16. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to the Site or these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
